Light Fixture Replacement in Oklahoma City

Professional installation and replacement of qualifying light fixtures using existing, compatible electrical wiring and suitable mounting locations — standard residential ceilings up to 10 feet. We do not perform new electrical wiring, circuit modifications, or electrical work requiring a licensed electrician.

Mobile On-Site Service — We Come to You

Redhawk Handyman Services comes to your home, apartment, rental property, office, or commercial space for professional assembly and installation services across the Oklahoma City metro. Items must be onsite before your appointment — you buy it, we build it, and you chill.

Service Scope

Redhawk Handyman Services replaces customer-provided ceiling fans and light fixtures at compatible existing locations with ceilings no higher than 10 feet. The standard service does not include running new wiring, adding or relocating switches or outlets, modifying circuits, installing new electrical locations, or troubleshooting electrical problems.

Fixture weight, mounting support, existing wiring condition, electrical-box condition, ceiling height, access, and product compatibility must be reviewed before pricing or feasibility is confirmed. Projects requiring electrical modifications should be handled by a qualified electrician.

Existing Light Fixture Replacement

Redhawk Handyman Services replaces customer-provided light fixtures at existing compatible locations throughout the Oklahoma City metro area — including Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, and Mustang. The replacement uses the current wiring and the existing mounting position.

You supply the new fixture — we remove the old one, assemble any fixture components that require it, connect the replacement to your existing wiring at the same compatible location, secure it to the suitable existing mounting box, and verify function before we leave. This is a replacement service, not a new installation: the location must already have an existing fixture with compatible wiring and a suitable mounting box in place.

Common Fixture Types

Flush-Mount Fixtures

Standard ceiling-mounted fixtures that sit close to the ceiling at existing compatible locations.

Semi-Flush-Mount Fixtures

Fixtures with a short stem or rod at existing compatible locations.

Vanity Lights

Bathroom vanity light replacement using existing wiring and mounting.

Standard Pendant Lights

Standard, accessible pendant light replacement at existing locations.

Bedroom, Kitchen, Dining-Room & Entryway Fixtures

Common residential ceiling fixture replacements for rooms with existing locations.

Integrated LED Fixtures

Replacement of integrated LED fixtures at compatible existing locations.

Standard Wall Sconces

Standard wall-sconce replacement using existing wiring and mounting.

Standard Chandeliers (subject to review)

Standard chandelier replacement may be possible — subject to individual project review for weight, size, and access.

Unusually heavy, fragile, oversized, complex, elevated, or specialty fixtures must be reviewed individually. Not every chandelier, pendant, sconce, or heavy fixture can be installed.

Builder-Grade Fixture Upgrades

Many Oklahoma City homeowners replace outdated or builder-grade fixtures with customer-provided modern fixtures at the same compatible location. This is one of the most affordable ways to update the look of a room — especially in new construction where standard builder fixtures are common. Redhawk does not redesign the lighting system or relocate fixtures; the replacement takes place at the existing compatible location using the existing wiring.

Multiple Fixture Replacements

Customers can submit several standard fixture replacements for one custom quote — for example, replacing builder-grade fixtures across a kitchen, hallway, and bathroom during a move-in or Airbnb setup. Pricing and feasibility are subject to individual project review based on ceiling height, access, fixture type, and the condition of each existing location.

Redhawk does not actively target commercial light-fixture replacement. Commercial or small-business requests may be reviewed individually when the ceiling is no higher than 10 feet, the fixture is ordinary and accessible, the project uses compatible existing wiring and mounting location, and no electrical modifications are required.

Ceiling-Height Limit

Maximum service height: 10-foot ceilings.

Redhawk's standard ladder-based light fixture replacement service is limited to ceilings no higher than 10 feet. Projects above the 10-foot ceiling limit are not accepted through automatic pricing. High-ceiling, two-story entryway, vaulted-ceiling, stairwell, scaffolding, and lift-assisted installations are not offered.

Existing-Wiring Requirement

The standard service does not include:

  • New wiring or rewiring
  • Circuit changes or modifications
  • New switches or dimmer installation requiring wiring changes
  • New outlets or outlet relocation
  • New fixture locations
  • Recessed-light or can-light installation
  • Junction-box installation or electrical-box upgrades
  • Electrical troubleshooting or flickering-light repair
  • Breaker repair or panel work
  • Landscape lighting or low-voltage wiring
  • Wiring inside walls

All work remains within applicable Oklahoma and local licensing requirements. Where electrical modifications or other licensed work are required, a properly licensed electrician must perform that work — existing wiring alone does not automatically make a project suitable for handyman service.

Older Properties & Fixtures

Older properties and older fixtures may have conditions that require evaluation or updates by a qualified electrician:

Deteriorated wire insulation
Missing or questionable grounding
Unsupported or incompatible electrical boxes
Previous nonstandard modifications
Damaged wiring or loose connections
Heat damage or scorching
Wiring that does not match the replacement product
Other conditions requiring an electrician

Older properties and older fixtures may have wiring, grounding, electrical boxes, insulation, or previous modifications that require evaluation or updates by a qualified electrician. Redhawk may decline or pause the replacement if questionable electrical conditions are present.

Safety & Electrician Referral

If the current fan or fixture shows electrical problems — or if questionable wiring or mounting conditions are discovered — Redhawk may require evaluation and correction by a qualified electrician before replacement work can proceed.

Conditions that may require an electrician:

  • Flickering or buzzing
  • Unusual heat or burning odor
  • Tripped breakers
  • Visible wire damage or brittle insulation
  • Scorching or discoloration
  • Loose electrical boxes or unsupported mounting locations
  • Missing or questionable grounding
  • Aluminum wiring
  • Signs of previous nonstandard wiring or arcing
  • A current fixture that does not operate normally

Redhawk does not diagnose, repair, or modify electrical conditions. If any of these issues are present, the project will be paused and a qualified electrician will be recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of light fixtures do you replace?

Redhawk may replace customer-provided flush mounts, semi-flush fixtures, vanity lights, standard pendants, integrated LED fixtures, wall sconces, and other accessible fixtures at compatible existing locations.

Do you install new wiring or move light fixtures?

No. The standard service is limited to replacing a fixture at an existing compatible location. New wiring, new electrical boxes, relocated fixtures, added switches, outlets, circuit modifications, and electrical troubleshooting are not included.

What is the maximum ceiling height?

Redhawk's standard ladder-based light fixture replacement service is limited to ceilings no higher than 10 feet.

Can you replace fixtures in older properties?

Older properties require additional review because the existing wiring, grounding, electrical box, insulation, or prior modifications may not be suitable for a straightforward replacement. An electrician may be required before installation can proceed.

Can you replace a fixture that flickers or trips the breaker?

Flickering, buzzing, unusual heat, burning odors, tripped breakers, or visible wire damage may indicate an electrical issue. Redhawk will review the request, but evaluation by a qualified electrician may be required before replacement.

What should I send for a light-fixture quote?

Send the ceiling height, approximate property age, a photo of the existing fixture and surrounding area, a link to the replacement product, whether the current fixture operates normally, and details about any warning signs.
